Andrea Zittel

Andrea Zittel was born in 1965 in Escondido, California. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and sculpture from San Diego State University in 1988, and an Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990.

Zittel has had solo exhibitions at The Whitney Museum of American Art, Altria, New York (2006); the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2005); The Diechtorhallen, Hamburg (2000); the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel (1996); the Louisiana Museum, Humlebæk (1996); the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (1995-96) and The Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh (1994). Group exhibitions includes the Whitney Biennial (2004, 1995); documenta X (1997); Skulptur Projecte Münster (1997) and the Venice Biennale (1993).

She had a solo exhibition at Magasin III in 2011.
