Jonathan Monk
Jonathan Monk was born in 1969 in Leicester, England, he lives and works in Berlin and Rome. In 1988 Monk received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Leicester Polytechnic, England and in 1991 he received his Master of Fine Arts from Glasgow School of Art, Scotland.
Selected solo exhibitions include Kindl Centre for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2019); Casey Kaplan, New York (2019); Dvir Gallery, Tel Aviv (2018); VOX, Montréal (2017); CAN Centre d’art Neuchâtel, Schweiz (2015); Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2014); and Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Spain (2013). Group exhibitions include Centre Pompidou, Paris (2019); Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, Germany (2018); Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2018); Kunsthalle Krems, Austria (2017); EMMA, Espoo (2016); Kunsthaus Baselland, Switzerland (2016); Kunsthalle Wien, Austria (2016).
In 2012 he was the recipient of the award Les Prix du Quartier des Bains, Geneva.
