Jim Thorell

Jim Thorell was born in 1981 in Stockholm, where he lives and works. In 2010 Thorell received his Master of Fine Arts from Valand Academy, Gothenburg. In 2009 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, with Daniel Richter as Professor. He has also studied at Kanazawa University, Japan (2007); Vietnam University of Fine Arts, Hanoi (2007) and Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki (2004).

Selected solo exhibitions include Loyal, Stockholm (2020); Setareh Contemporary, Düsseldorf (2019); Gillmeier Rech, Berlin (2018); Pina, Vienna (2017); Roman Road, London (2016); Union Pacific, London (2015) and Carl Kostyál, Stockholm (2015). Group exhibitions include Alma Löv Museum, Östra Ämtervik (2019); Bohusläns Museum, Uddevalla (2019); Deitch Projects, New York (2018); Tensta Konsthall, Stockholm (2017); Vestfossen kunstlaboratorium, Norway (2017); Moderna Museet, Malmö (2016); Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum, Stockholm (2016) and Wanås Konst, Knislinge (2015).
