Jens Fänge
Jens Fänge was born in 1965 in Gothenburg. He lives and works in Stockholm. Fänge has studied at the Hovedskous School of Painting and the Valand Academy of Fine Arts, both in Gothenburg.
Selected solo exhibitions include Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm (2018); Eskilstuna Konstmuseum, Eskilstuna, Sweden (2012); and Gothenburg Museum of Art, Gothenburg, Sweden (1996). Group exhibitions include Artipelag, Stockholm (2014); Moderna Museet, Malmö, Sweden (2012); Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2010, 2002); Liljevalchs Konsthall, Stockholm (2009); ARKEN Museum for Moderne Kunst, Ishøj, Denmark (2008, 2001); Tensta Konsthall, Stockholm (2006); and Museet for samtidskunst, Oslo (2003). Fänge also participated during the 2008 Beijing International Art Biennale.
Fänge’s work can be found in the collections of Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Museet for samtidskunst, Oslo; Nationalmuseum, Stockholm; Göteborgs konstmuseum, Gothenburg, Sweden; Skövde Konstmuseum, Skövde, Sweden; and Borås Konstmuseum, Borås, Sweden.
In 2000, Fänge was granted the Sten A Olsson Culture Scholarship, and since 2017, he is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts.
