Fabrice Gygi
Fabrice Gygi was born in 1965 in Geneva, Switzerland, where he lives and works. He has studied at Ecole Supérieure d’Art Visuel, Geneva (1984–1990) and Ecole des Arts Décoratifs, Geneva (1983–1984).
Selected solo exhibitions include Galerie Wilde, Geneva (2020); Galerie Chantal Crousel, Paris (2018); Triennale d’Art du Valais, Martigny (2014); Musée d’Art Contemporian de Marseilles, Marseille (2007); Orange County Museum, New Port Beach (2005). Group exhibitions include MAMCO, Geneva (2019); Fondation CAB, Brussel (2019); Kunstmuseum Olten, Olten (2018); Museum Tinguely, Basel (2017); Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, Paris (2017); Migros Museum, Zürich (2016); and the Swiss Institute, New York (2015). He has also participated in the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009).
Gygi has been honored with a number of grants from, among others, quARTier des Bains, Geneva (2007); Triennale de l’Estampe Contemporaine, Le Locle (2004); Stiftung für Graphische Kunst in der Schweiz, Prize of the SGG (2001) and Swiss Federal Prize of Fine Arts, Bern (1998, 1997, 1996).
