FACE – Investigations of a Dog

The exhibition catalogue is produced by FACE (Foundation of Arts for a Contemporary Europe). The network was founded in 2008 and consists of five private art institutions: DESTE Foundation, Athens; Ellipse Foundation, Cascais; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; La maison rouge – Fondation Antoine de Galbert, Paris; and Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall.

The exhibition Investigations of a Dog has been inspired by and borrowed its title from a short story by Franz Kafka (1922). In conjunction with the exhibition, each institution has invited a local author to write a new short story inspired by Kafka. The five short stories are published in the title FACE Investigations of a Dog – Works from Five European Art Foundations and as five separate pieces in their original language. The featured authors are Aristide Antonas (GR), Rui Cardoso Martins (PT), Jonas Hassen Khemiri (SE), Emmanuelle Pagano (FR), and Tiziano Scarpa (IT).
