Magasin III presents So Let Us Now Begin at the Beginning<\/em> \u2013 a new group exhibition in Jaffa bringing works from the collection into dialogue with local artists<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Magasin III Collection returns to public view in the exhibition So Let Us Now Begin at the Beginning<\/em>, opening at Magasin III Jaffa on June 4 and running through November 27, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a time marked by conflict, uncertainty, and deepening divisions across society, Magasin III remains committed to the transformative power of art \u2013 and to the belief that art can offer a space for reflection, dialogue and hope. The new exhibition is part of Magasin III Jaffa\u2019s ongoing work to foster a stronger shared society among Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze and other communities in Jaffa and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition revolves around the desire to begin again \u2013 a longing that has taken on an especially urgent and painful tone in recent years in Israel. Throughout the exhibited video works, sculptures, and drawings, the possibility \u2013 or impossibility \u2013 of beginning anew repeatedly emerges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On view are works from the Magasin III Collection by internationally acclaimed contemporary artists Christian Boltanski, Paul Chan, Jonathan Monk, and Tony Oursler. They are presented together with works by two local artists \u2013 Israeli Yael Burstein and Samah Shihadi, who is a Palestinian citizen of Israel. Previously shown at Magasin III in Stockholm, the works from the collection acquire a different resonance in the new context of Jaffa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is curated by Sandra Weil and Karmit Galili. Works by Samah Shihadi are presented courtesy of the Dubi Shiff Collection, Tel Aviv, and a private collection. The title So Let Us Now Begin at the Beginning<\/em> is borrowed from a sculpture by Jonathan Monk on view  in the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
