Wouter Davidts will in his lecture \u201dYou specify it, we fabricate it: The art of production\u201d talk about studio production refering to different examples. Starting point will be the conceptualist turn in studio production, a turn that was initiated by Tony Smith\u2019s\u00a0 \u201dDie\u201d, a sculpture of which he ordered the production by simply telling the instructions over the phone to the steel company.<\/p>\n
Wouter Davidts is professor of modern and contemporary art at VU University in Amsterdam and co-editor of the book \u201cThe Fall of the Studio. Artists at Work\u201d. After the lecture follows an artist talk with\u00a0 Maria Hedlund, Carl Hammoud and curator Tessa Praun from Magasin 3.\u00a0 They\u00a0 will share their view on the studio and their work process.
